Prepration of Simple Elixir IP

 

Simple Elixir (I.P.)

Object: 

 To prepare and submit simple elixir IP.

Requirements:

• Orange tincture.     ------ 75ml
• Syrup.                        ----- 400ml
• Chloroform,water, sufficient to produce.                 ------- 1000ml

Procedure:

1. Mix the orange tincture with syrup and add the sufficient chloroform, water to produce required volume.
2. Add 25 g of purified talc and shake
3. Allow to stand for few hours, shaking occasionally and filter.
