To prepare and submit Simple Syrup USP

Aim:

 To prepare and Submit Simple Syrup U.S.P.

Reference:

Official in United States Pharmacopoeia , 23rd edition , pp 2314.

Formula:

1. Sucrose.      ------- 850mg

2. Purified water ----- to produce 1000ml.

Procedure:

1. Place loosely packed cotton in the neck of the percolator and moist it with few drops of water.
2. Place sucrose in the percolator and pour about 450ml of purified water carefully and regulate the flow. Return the percolate, if required until all sucrose gets dissolved.
3. Wash the percolator and cotton with sufficient purified water, mix with the percolate and make up the volume up to 1000ml.
