To prepare and submit piperazine citrate elixer I.P.

Formula:

   Ingredientes.            Quantity Given

Piperazine citrate--------- 180gm

Chloroform.          --------- 5ml

Glycerine.              -------- 100ml

Orange oil.             ------- 0.25 ml

Syrup.                      ------- 500ml

Purified water.      ------- 1000ml

Theory:

Piperazine Citrate Elixir is an anti-helminitic medication. It is for  the treatment of worm infections. It works by killing the worms that cause infection. The killed worms are then passed through the stool.

Procedure:

1. Dissolve piperazine citerate in 3/4 th of purified water.
2. Dissolve orange oil in chloroform sprit and add piperazine citrate solution.
3. Add syrup and glycerine and mix uniformly.
4. Adjust the volume with purified water.

Dose:

For treatment of round worms , single dose upto 30ml is given according to Age of patient.

Storage:

• Store in well closed container protected from light.
• Store in cool and dark place.
