To prepare and submit creasol with soap solution I.P. (Lysol)

Formula
Ingredients. Quantity given
Creasol. -----500ml
Vegetable oil. ----- 180gm
Potassium Hydroxide. ---- 42gm
Purified water. ----- qs 1000ml
Theory:
A solution may be defined as a monophasic system of two or more substances. And when two or more substance mixed together to get a homogeneous mixture and the formed product is termed as solution.
Cresol:
It is a active pharmaceutical ingredient, that is used as disinfectant.
Cresol with soap solution is also known as Lysol.
Procedure:
- Dissolve the 42gm of potassium hydroxide in 250 ml of purified water.
- Then to it add 180 gm of vegetable oil and heat the mixture on water bath with occasional stirring until complete saponification takes place.
- After that add measured quantity of cresol with continues stirring to get clear solution.
- And finally qs with purified water to get required volume.

It is an amber coloured liquid.
