Formula


Ingredients.                      Quantity given
Creasol.                          -----500ml
Vegetable oil.                 ----- 180gm
Potassium Hydroxide. ---- 42gm
Purified water.           ----- qs 1000ml

Theory:

A solution may be defined as a monophasic system of two or more substances. And when two or more substance mixed together to get a homogeneous mixture and the formed product is termed as solution.

Cresol:
It is a active pharmaceutical ingredient, that is used as disinfectant. 
Cresol with soap solution is also known as Lysol.

Procedure:

  1. Dissolve  the 42gm of potassium hydroxide in 250 ml of purified water.
  2. Then to it add 180 gm of vegetable oil and heat the mixture on water bath with occasional stirring until complete saponification takes place.
  3. After that add measured quantity of cresol with continues stirring to get clear solution.
  4. And finally qs with purified water to get required volume.

Description:

It is an amber coloured liquid.

Storage:

  • This solution should not be stored in Lead lined container.
  • Protect from light.
  • For External Use Only.
